Every year, I fall under the spell of the soft, sweet colors that seem to go hand-and-hand with Eastertime decorating. And I'm always drawn to the same items: Easter Egg Topiaries and Easter Egg Wreaths. Yet I can never bring myself to actually buy these items, as the quality to price ratio never seems to add up.
So this year I decided to see what I could do with what I had on hand. The wreath may have to wait until next year, but I finally have my topiary. Sometimes it really does pay to dig through the old craft stash, adding in a little time, creativity, patience, and paint.
Happy Easter!

So cute! I'm like you - can't bring myself to spend the money, but inspirational people like you who are generous enough to share the scoop on DIY are a gift!
Great look Kindra, I have the same problem. I don't want to spend the money either when I see these.

I love the soft colors in your topiary - they surely say spring despite the often gray skies we have had!
I hope today you are feeling well and getting your energy back!

Dear Colleen,
I love your topiary egg tree. It looks so pretty and Eastery.
When we left home on March 24th my house was still decorated with my St. Patrick's Day decorations. I was really busy sewing for my grandkids. I thought we would be home by April 6th in plenty of time to decorate for Easter and Spring. Here it is April 20th and I am still stuck in a hospital in Utah.
Now I wish that I had taken down my St. Pat decorations and put out my spring decor before I left.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving me words of encouragement. I was really down recently.I couldn't keep back the tears because I felt like I couldn't face the pain and the long road to recovery any longer..
I asked God to help me find new strength to face my recovery with smiles. I believe that God answered that prayer though my sweet blog friend Linda from Behind my red door... and you.
When I woke up the yesterday morning and I found that Linda had sent so many of her blog friends to cheer me up, I was amazed. My heart is really touched as I read the comments. How can I be sad when so many good people like you, who don't even know me, are praying for me and wishing me well.
I read and re-read the comments. They are an answer to my prayers. Thank you. You have helped me find my smile again.
I hope that you will drop by my blog again. I am happy to get to know you. Thank you for taking the time to brighten my day. Hugs, Lura
It's so great to see you creating every now and then Colleen. Then I know you had a good creative spurt of energy! What a fun project. I love all the different springtime colors.
Happy Easter, Colleen. I hope you have a blessed day with your family. Hugs--Julie
What a cute and simple idea! I also love the soft colors of spring, but I like to darken them somewhat because I'm really not a fan of pastels. I love how you primmed up your topiary! Thanks for sharing your creativity!
Love this idea! Saving it for next spring!
